Come join us on the second Sunday of every month for our Olivenhain Valley 4-H Mini Silky Fainting Goat Project! "4-H is a global network of youth organizations whose mission is to engage youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development. The goal of 4-H is to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility and life skills of youth through experiential learning programs and a positive youth development approach. Though typically thought of as an agriculturally focused organization as a result of its history, 4-H today focuses on citizenship, healthy living, science, engineering, and technology programs." One Sunday afternoon a month from 3-4pm, we open our little farm to local kids to come and learn about goats. It is a very hands on and educational experience. We cover all aspects of this unique breed, including how to handle, show, and care for these goats. Great project for kids who want to get into goats and showing but don’t want a dairy breed. Kids do not need an animal to participate in this project. Open to kids ages 5 and up.
